laymon is a legend - laymon is a legend, this book proves it, my second favourite ( after midnight my favourite ), this book is simply impossible to put down, the story gains speed, and by the end of the book i was exhausted.
Brilliant - I have read about 15 of Laymons books so far and Night In The Lonesome October is one of the best. It is very addictive and difficult to put down. The charactors are unique and very likeable. Laymon uses the same technique that he uses in In The Dark of having a cliffhanger at the end of almost every chapter so that the book keeps you gripped and you find it very difficult to put down. I would recomend this book to fans of Laymon new or old and to anybody who likes horror/suspence novels.
Amazing - This book didn t take very long for me to consume as is normal with anything he writes. I must have read about 20 of Laymon s books and I can honestly say that I have never been disappointed. This book had me gripped right from the start and Laymon was doing what he always does best and that is making the story and the characters so strong that the reader just has to know what happens in the novel. Another thing that he does excellently is putting people in simply terrifying situations and shows how weak or how strong the characters can be emotionally in such situtions. He puts the main character Ed Logan into the path of temptation with a mysterious girl named Casey who enjoys taking risks. Laymon takes you on a wild, sometimes frightening, rollercoaster ride and I have to say that the worst thing about this book was that it ended.
A Fantastic Read! - This book should be marked Warning once started you will not be able to put down! Each chapter ends in such a cliffhanger I just had to carry on reading. This was my first Richard Laymon book and I have to say definitely the best to date. So if you re a fan of gut wrenching horror and suspense you have to get this book! Now!
Night in with Laymon s Lonesome October - This is an absolutely astounding book. This displays a natural someones talent at his best. The way Laymon writes is ingenious:He writes the events through the bulk of a chapter, then lays back as he draws the chapter to a close . . . then BAM! something new starts happening . . . but he ends the chapter, so he makes you read the next chapter, then the one aftre that. I must be over exagerating this and im sure other writers use this process but more disscreetly, becasuse it such a simple way the get the readers hooked. The actual story, as far as i can tell, is all over the place, but that, in this case, is a good thing because you can never guess what is going to happen, no matter how har you try. It will shock you, enlighten you (arouse you as well!).
